Our 50k XC mountain bike race continues the rich history of mountain bike racing in Big Bear. The 2026 course details will be announced in the coming months, but plan on a fun, challenging ride through stunning mountain landscapes with flowy single and double track trails.

 

Special 2026 note: Junior riders (18 and under) race for FREE in the Dirty Burro MTB events! Get the next generation on the trails—no entry fee required. Just register and show up ready to ride.

  • 8:30 am on Saturday, August 1 (adaptive MTB category at 9:30 am).

Aid stations, timing, SAG, and on-course support similar to the other disciplines. Course closes at 5:00 pm.

Unfortunately, Big Bear trails are for acoustic bikes only. Forest Service rules prohibit motorized vehicles on singletrack and certain trails used in the gravel routes.

Yes—timing chips are used. Plus, riders can participate in KOM/QOM challenges on course (fastest male/female awards).

Challenging yet enjoyable Big Bear singletrack and doubletrack—technical sections, flowy trails, and stunning mountain scenery at high elevation.

Um, absolutely perfect (knock on wood…). Early August averages highs around 80°F (27°C) and lows around 49°F (9°C). It can be dry in the summer – hydrate heavily, use sunscreen, and bring layers (it can be chilly at night).
