The 50k XC mountain bike race continues the rich history of mountain bike racing in Big Bear! The 2026 course details will be announced in the coming months, but plan on it taking you through stunning mountain landscapes on a challenging yet enjoyable route with flowy single and double track trails.

Special 2026 note: Junior riders (18 and under) race for FREE in the Dirty Burro MTB events! Get the next generation on the trails—no entry fee required. Just register and show up ready to ride.

Course Description

Conquer the Extraordinary

  • 33 Challenging Miles: Fast and treacherous Singletrack and Doubletrack sections.
  • Dazzling Scenery: Relish in the stunning vistas of Big Bear Lake, a legendary backdrop for mountain bike racing.
  • Expect the Unexpected: Ride beneath towering pine trees and maybe catch the fleeting glimpse of Red Deer.
  • Historic Roots: Big Bear became a mountain bike racing hub in the 80’s; hosting some of the largest amateur events in the US.

  • The Delamar Climb: Take on the infamous 11.6% grade climb that will test your endurance and invigorate your soul.
  • Strategic Aid Stations: Recharge at Mile 10, Mile 16.5 and Mile 23, crucial checkpoints on your journey.

No E-Bikes in the Mountain Bike Event

E-bikes are allowed in the Tour de Big Bear road events only.  E-bikes will not be allowed in the Dirty Burro Mountain Bike event due to Forest Service restrictions on use of e-bikes on single track trails.
