HC Gran Fondo
125 miles – 12,000’ Climbing
An EPIC Southern California ride, the Tour de Big Bear HC Gran Fondo course will be one that you will remember! Whether you are riding this as a competitive or non-competitive event, it’s a lot of distance and climbing, ALL at altitude!!
The course heads west out of the Village and across the new bridge, turning right along the north shore of Big Bear Lake and Baldwin Lake, up and over Onyx Summit, down through the Santa Ana River Canyon to Angelus Oaks. Turn around at Angelus Oaks and begin the 25 mile climb, through the San Gorgonio Wilderness, back up and over Onyx Summit. Route then heads back west across the north shore of Big Bear Lake, making a right turn at the dam and out further west across Arctic Circle, down past Snow Valley Ski Area toward Running Springs. Route then makes a turn and climb up to Green Valley Lake. Route turns around at Green Valley Lake and rides back Across Arctic Circle and back into Big Bear Lake. Don’t be fooled by the Village in sight that your work is almost done . . . save some gas for “The Walls”. . . two steep pitches at mile 124 that will have your legs screaming for mercy and the FREE BEER at the finish line!!
